Puppy love

In January, we welcomed a new member into our family: our puppy Oakley. She is a yellow Labrador retriever who is a cutie pie, but she also keeps us on our toes. Oakley was 7 weeks old when we brought her home, and is growing up SO fast! By April, she was 4 months old and weighs 35 lbs! She loves to play, be near us doing whatever, and chew on a good bone. She has already shown how much she likes kids and playing with other dogs. She took 8 weeks of training classes, which we hoped would help her to become a mannerly dog who is gentle, enjoyable, and trustworthy...

Fastforward another 4 months...Oakley is now 8 months old and 72 lbs! She still thinks like a puppy and acts like a puppy, but she's HUGE! She sometimes doesn't realize that she can knock things over just by bumping into them. Some friends with a 14-month-old girl stayed with us for a week, and Oakley had to learn to be gentle with Avy. In the end, the two became best friends. Oakley learned how to sit still (mostly) while Avy poked and petted and loved on her. It was adorable!
